How you should prepare for meetings with potential virtual assistants
Like any investment, deciding to work with a virtual assistant (or bringing in any help for your business) is a big decision.
You're trusting someone to come into your business to help, not hurt, your progress. Ideally, working with a VA will free up your valuable time that's spent on extraneous tasks so you can focus on tasks that only you can do.
That's kind of a tall order if you think about it.
I know for me personally, my business is my baby. It gives me a means of supporting my family and the ability to work towards long-term goals that my husband and I share. I've spent a lot of time and energy into building my business to the point it's at now and have worked hard to cultivate the relationships I have with my clients.
Sound familiar? You can't just trust anybody with your baby!
That's why it's incredibly important that when you 'walk' (we're virtual here, folks but you get the point) into a meeting with a potential VA that you be as prepared as possible for that meeting. Find out what this person is skilled in. Check out their references and/or testimonials. See if you can get a feel for how this person operates their business.
And before you go into the meeting, prepare a few questions that will help you identify if this person will be a good fit for your business and not hinder the hard work and energy you've invested. Ask enough questions so that you have a solid understanding of this potential VA, their business practices, and abilities. The list of questions you could ask is endless, but make sure you don't turn your meeting into an interrogation.
To make things easy for you...
I've created a list of what I think are the 10 most important questions to ask potential VAs.
The goal of this list is to point out some things that a lot of people don't think about when meeting with potential VAs, like finding out business policies and general availability. I hope that this list helps you narrow down the details from the different VAs you talk with so that you can find the one that meets your needs.
